Exciting Weekend

Although this weekend has been restful, it has also been exciting!! Nick asked Shannon for permission for Samantha's had in marriage last Saturday (3/10/12). Shannon had an extremely long talk with Nick (as I was there to witness it) about the fact that marriage is a promise between the two of them and God and not to each other. He also asked of their plans for housing, work, etc. I was so nervous for Nick, as he was breathing rather hard and his face was bright red...LOL. Shannon was pretty tough on him, but did give him permission for an engagement, but not a mariage this soon.

Shannon then told me yesterday morning (3/17/12) that Nick asked Samantha to marry him on (3/16/12), which is totally funny, as Shannon asked me to marry him on 3/14/99:) Just 2 days and 13 years difference....hehe!

Nick wants to wait until closer to Sam's graduation (which is May 2014), but Sam wants to marry in 2013 - February either year, as she wants a red & black wedding (roses). They are super happy and I pray for their relationship - for it to last a lifetime:)

Here is her beautiful ring:

I took these photos yesterday evening just before our game night. Game night was so much fun, as I have never laughed so much before...LOL. Nick cracks me up and says the funniest things!!!! My allergies were giving me fits earlier in the day, so Chloe was unable to attend a b-day party. She didn't remember about it thankfully, so it was okay... phew!

I dread a Wal-mart trip, but it is necessary some time today. Oh, and cannot forget the race... go JJ!!!

An Eventful Day

Yesterday, March 10th, was an all around eventful day. We started off with some time at home (my grading narrative writing papers), then we got ready to head to Anderson with Samantha and Nick. After stopping my Home Depot, we began to see airplanes making formations in the sky... well, that led us to further investigate:) Glad we did, as we found an open area to watch near the Anderson airport. It was an exciting thing to watch how they make their formations, dive, etc. I was happy that Chloe was able to experience that - she was amazed by them!

Then, we headed to my sister's new house (which is looking great, as they just moved in last week). We chit chatted with my uncle, aunt and cousins and took another tour of my sister's house. The thing I love most about any time we get together with family is reminiscing about funny things in the past.

After a visit with all the family, we headed to Chick Fil-A, as our call ahead for Outback was going to take about an hour. Chloe played, & played, & played... :) We then headed to Outback and waited another 30 minutes or so... Chloe was beginning to get sleepy (me too!). Anyway, we had some really good discussions about the bible and events in the world today. There was a lot of really good conversation tonight!!

Once we got home, Chloe placed her tooth she had lost the prior day, into the tooth fairy pillow that granny had designed for her - she was out fast! I am now waiting for her to wake, and see how she reacts to the tooth fairy's visit!

The Tooth Fairy will visit again...

I have TONS of classroom work to do over the weekend, but will be tough since I am feeling a little rough (perhaps allergy stuff). Anyway, we were out to dinner last night before taking Chloe to see the Lorax, and as she was eating a lemon she began to cry about her loose tooth! The first tooth loss experience was non-painful, as she was biting a lollipop & it just popped out! This time, it was more noticable for her. I calmly took her to the restroom, set her up on the counter and made one attempt to pull the tooth - no luck. She was getting slightly nervous at this point, so I just told her a trick that worked for me when I was little - the twist!! She immediately smiled and began twisting - and yes, it came right out!! She smiled and exclaimed, "That didn't hurt!" I was so proud of her:) Our waitress even wrote her a little note on our bill about hoping that the tooth fairy is good to her (:o) Well, she decided to wait until she gets her tooth fairy pillow from granny before turning her tooth over to the fairy...so we will see...

Signs of SPRING

SPRING and FALL are my very favorite seasons! I love spring, because it reminds me of the new life God gave us through Jesus' sacrifice (Easter celebration). I love the colors of each of those seasons; the only thing I do NOT like about my 2 favorite seasons are SEASONAL allergies!!!!! That part has not begun, yet; thankfully:) If this doesn't make you think of SPRING, I don't know what will:

my sweet little flower:)
Last week was very busy and dramatic, to say the least. Most of the week, I tested in order to use data to drive the instruction for the remainder of the school year. There are only 40-something days left (cannot remember exactly how many). Thursday, I had a student steal jelly beans from out of a bag on my desk (twice!), so I had to have a BIG talk with them about stealing and give that person (although I knew who it was) a chance to confess. The BIG boss of the school even came in to talk about the seriousness of what happened. We have to teach these life lessons while they are young, in hopes they never happen again.

Friday evening, we took Chloe for some photo shots (something for Sam's church fundraiser), then dinner at Echo. Today, I did some mild cleaning, relaxing, and now having game time (stopped for a bite to eat in between..haha). So far, the girls are winning!!! YAY!!! Hoping to rest more tomorrow to prepare for yet another jam-packed work week - with meetings galore! As long as I am learning something, I really do not mind the meetings... just tired at the end of the day & want to prop my feet up...ha!

Chloe has spring & class photos this week at school, so hoping to find something special for her to wear (maybe I can find something at Belk or Cato while she is in dance class Monday). Not sure yet - seems as though everything she owns has stains on it - hmm..typical kid...lol!
